Daily Notes and Appointments are stored in folders inside the EZCalendar Folder (which is kept in the Preferences Folder in your System folder). Each year that contains any Daily Notes or Appointments will have a folder of its own (named after the year). Within the year folder, you’ll find month folders. Within a month folder can be a text file for each day (unless the file is marked as “Private,” if so, for security reasons the file will be a special format you cannot open with a text editor), and an “Appointments” file which will contain all the Appointments for that month.
As an example, if you have any appointments in the month of June, 2000, this is the path to the actual file:
Hard Drive: System Folder: Preferences Folder: 2000: June: Appointments
If you have a daily note for 7/10/2001, this is the path to the file:
Hard Drive: System Folder: Preferences Folder: 2001: July: 10
Yearly Events are all stored in a file called “Yearly Events” within the EZCalendar Folder (which is kept in the Preferences Folder).
Backing Up:
You should keep a regular back-up of your entire “EZCalendar Folder”.
NOTE: If you’d like to store all of your EZCalendar files somewhere other than the “Preferences” you can. Just move the “EZCalendar Folder” from within the “Preferences” folder to anywhere on your hard drive and create an alias of the folder. Drop the alias into the Preferences folder and make sure to name the alias “EZCalendar Folder.” That’s it.
